Vlaams-Brabantse Mediamaatschappij (Sydes 99,7%)

The Vlaams-Brabantse Mediamaatschappij (VBM), is the operating company behind the regional television station ROB-TV.

This television station was set up in 1993 and has exclusive transmission rights for the eastern area of Flemish Brabant (the district of Leuven, Diest, Aarschot and Tienen). Every day, ROB-TV offers regional news that viewers cannot find anywhere else. ROB-TV is very successful in doing so: every evening, about 100,000 people from the region watch their news programme. On a weekly basis, the television station reaches no less than 90% of the population in its transmission range. During the day, viewers can also watch the very successful ROB paper (60% coverage after 6 days).

Ever since Sydes became a shareholder in VBM, the company also enjoys a number of synergies with other companies. At an editorial level, for example, it now cooperates with ROB.FM, Het Nieuwsblad, the Passe-Partout group and the internet.
